INSPIRED BY INSTINCT workshop
Break free from your reference photo! Join abstract artist Mary-Jo Lough for this transformative 1.5-day workshop designed for artists of all levels and genres. Supplies Needed:
You do not need to bring everything listed below. You will need the bullet points in bold and assortment from the rest. I will have a lot of tools there that everyone will be welcome to try out as well!
- Mixed media sketchbook or loose paper, 11" x 14" or larger
- One or two rolls of paper towels or rags + water containers
- Masking tape
- Apron (if you like wearing one when you paint)
- Mark-making tools such as pencils, pencil crayons, crayons, pastels, posca pens, stamps
- Paints - acrylic or watercolour - bring a variety of colours, but include black and white.
- Paint brushes - whatever you are used to using, bring 4-6 different sizes
- Papers for collage, receipts, old menus, newspapers, magazines - whatever catches your fancy (I can provide the medium for adhering collage if you don't already have some).
- Look around your house for things that might make interesting marks: old credit cards, sponges, toothbrushes, toothpicks and the like.
